Flabby, 'cause I got some meat on my bones. Chic - because flabbiness can be fabulously chic.

I'm HOMMMMMEEEE
FINALLY rolled in from Nashville into Powder Springs, Georgia. It's so good to me home. Tomorrow is the famous day of cooking at our house and I'll be sure to take a video or two to document the event. Look for it sometime tomorrow. I hope you guys have an amazing Thanksgiving, and if you're not blessed enough to be with family for Thanksgiving, just know that you're welcome at God's table...and mine!

HARRY POTTER!!
Okay let me just say first that the movie was AMAZING! I especially loved that wonderful cliff-hanger ending. However, not as many people were dressed up like I had expected. I definitely think that I got the best costumes to show, though. I think my favorite was a girl who dressed in black and put on a white swim cap to be Voldemort. HAHA!
However...these were two of my favorites...
The girl on the far left is my roommate, Rachel. The one with the big blonde hair is me...and the one on the far right is my roommate Kelsey. The last of the roomies was taking the picture...and we are so thankful for Karalyn's camera!
I don't want to spoil ANYTHING about the movie for those of you haven't seen it yet. GO SEE IT. Even if you aren't a Harry Potter fan, you'll love the special effects and quality of the film itself. Bottom line, probably one of my favorite HP movies to date.
It's almost time to go home for Thanksgiving : )

Harry Potter...At Midnight
So my roommates and I have tickets to the midnight showing of Harry Potter tonight in Green Hills. I'm generally excited about the movie...because I've seen them all...but more than that, I'm ready to see the people who decided to get all geeked out and dress up. Not making fun...just saying. We have decided as a house to take as many pictures with Harry, Hermoine, Ron, etc. impersonators as we possibly can. I cannot WAIT to see what we come up with, and I promise you will see it as well....until later....have a great day!

Fatshion in the UK
So, we've all heard the term "fat Americans," and I'm pretty sure that almost everyone reading this is well aware that America is the fattest nation in the world...so tell me why in the WORLD do we not have better plus size fashion here? There are some amazing designers here, such as Monif C in New York City...if you have never checked out her site before please do it before you leave this page. She's amazing at dresses...and you'll notice that's pretty much all she does. She's even more amazing at unique plus swimsuits. They look young - I bought a beautiful red one-shouldered one over the summer and got plenty of compliments on it at the beach. Also, I love Torrid, even though sometimes I feel like they're catering to a slightly younger crowd.
In the UK however, I have been introduced to Evans. Evans is wonderful for anything you need in your wardrobe. I have heard people rave about their clothing on other blogs, but I haven't bought anything from there myself. Beth Ditto has a line though Evans, full of funky things that the punk rock enthusiast would die to wear. They are a bit pricey...not to mention that you have to judge the prices through the exchange rate, since the UK uses Euros. However, I hear they're amazing. Just for kicks, here's a few of my favorite items from the Evans website. I'm tempted to purchase one of them so I can review it from personal experience...

Yeah so, as you can see...it's a little funky. I just LOVE those shoes though. I think it's a very sexy take on menswear. I love the shade of brown and the tweed texture. It's the kind of shoe that can look super professional in the office, but super sexy out at night with your girls...or your man ; )
Thoughts of Thanksgivin'
I've been in Nashville for awhile now, and I constantly miss home. My sweet Nanny (that's what I call my grandmother) has called me and told me how much she misses me, and it breaks my heart every time I hear her sweet voice. Look at her...ain't she adorable?
Standing beside her is my Grandaddy. I miss him more and more each day. Part of me doesn't even like this picture because he was so sick when it was taken. Nonetheless, I wish I could see Nanny be able to put her arms around him again.
But, sad stories aside, I'm so happy that I will be seeing my family in no time at all. I love love love Nashville, but it's time to go home. I think my momma's green bean casserole was calling my name as soon as a week ago. The funny thing is, I'm not a huge fan of turkey...I'll eat it of course, but it's everything else that takes up room on the table that I love the most.
Every year we have a tradition of getting together on wednesday, just the women, and getting a head start on our cooking. I usually end up getting stuck chopping onions...I HATE chopping onions. I find myself to be incredibly sensitive to their smell...you might as well shove me in a gas chamber and call it a day. My face poofs up, my eyes get red and teary...and I am just plumb miserable by the end of it. Maybe I'll con someone else into being the chopper this year...
I'll take pictures and update you guys on how our preparation day went. Wish us luck - we have a lot of people to feed this year!
This is what I get...
For not posting for like...a year. Since I went so long without posting a THING on my old blog, it was completely de-activated. So, during a recent interview for a internship (recent meaning last night), I mentioned that I had a blog...and of course they asked to see it. So, while discovering last night that it no longer exists, I decided that I really need to blog again. I have way too much to say anyway...so here I am. Welcome ; ) I'm so glad that you have decided to join me. I promise this thing will look a lot cooler as time and life passes. For now, hang in there with me : )
